Corsair AIO water pump noise?

Macko939

Hi Guys

I've decided to clean my girlfriend's PC because it's quite noisy.

She bought it about 4 years ago, it was a pre-build and it came with a corsair AIO. I am not exactly sure what model but it's not RGB.

So her pc keeps macking that very repetitive "grinding" noise, kind of like a bad fan bearing or a fan grinding against a cable. I thought that was the case so I started unplugging fans one after another to figure out which one is making the noise.

Surprisingly, I've unplugged all case fans (temporarily ofc) and the GPU, and I the noise remained. That leads me to believe that it's the AIO pump for the CPU that's making the noise.

I was wondering if there's any way at all to remediate it without getting a new one, and if not, is it dangerous to keep using the PC as it is? It's been making that noise for a while and the temps are fine.

AIOs last 3-5 years before they need to be replaced. Sounds like there is air in the pump so the bearing isn't properly lubricated. You could try turning the case around to see if you could move the bubble into the radiator instead, besides that it's getting a new cooler. If temps are fine then it's just a noise issue for now but that pump is likely about to fail so I'd keep an eye on the temps

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
