I already have OS, and peripherals. Also have 2x 250gb HDDs that I will run Raid 0. Will be getting an SSD at some point later. I will be wanting to use Steam in home streaming to a laptop too.

Just for gaming!

Want to keep the budget as low as possible, its at £550 for now.

Thanks!

That is a great build. Not much to say about it. You could probably downgrade the case and try to get a FX 8120 just because it's the more 'future proof' processor. But the FX 6300 is actually a very solid CPU. Actually, keep the 6300, a good upgrade from this would probably be down the line in 3 years or so together with a motherboard and ddr4 ram.

The storage config that you have going on is good. I'd create a small OS partition, so you can do easier data migration once you actually get to get a SSD.

who cares...

Thats what I like to hear :D... yeah I could push to a 8320, but I didnt think it was worth the extra as it wont really affect performance. I like that case :)

Good idea on the partition! Never thought of that thank you.

Might also be looking at a new monitor at some point later, thinking of this:

Yes, i have that case. When i did my build i also looked at cases and i went with the Define R4, because a case is something you can reuse in a second build It doesn't really wear out over time. So why not invest in something proper in the first place. Same goes for the PSU.

A 8320 would be great. But i guess as long as you keep a decent OC on your FX 6300 you'll be happy with it for at least 2-3 years. A AMD GPU would compliment your CPU even better because of AMD mantle but the GTX 760 is a great choice too. (would be my personal choice aswell)

I don't know much about monitors, sorry. :D

Yeah I will be OC'ing.. Ive heard it OC's very well :)

Yeah I was considering a R9 270X, bit cheaper too.. but not as powerful. Not sure which is better value really
