Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if having a mesh case, (Lian Li Lancool II Mesh) effects air pressure in the case. I am planning on having 3 intake fans at the front, and 3 exhaust fans at the back (1 on the rare and 2 on the top of the case), but will the mesh front, and shroud effect the air pressure in the case? e.g. to achieve neutral air pressure, should I install an addition exhaust fan above the shroud?

Thanks.

Assuming same fans and speed, the front fans would bring in less air. the balance would come through all the little openings. so pressure would be negative.

The infiltrated air also is un-filtered. Even when the mesh is filtering less than a real filter, it takes the elephants and antelopes out. I only use intake fans (4) and experimented with adding 1-2 exhaust fans and it didn't make a difference, so i just intake front and bottom.

There is an easy way to find out for your case if exhaust fans are helpful or not.

Pressure is something you shouldn't think too much about. Main thing is airflow, where the fans are and which direction they move air. LTT did two videos on fans, both pretty much proving that pressure is insignificant factor in both cooling and dust collection.
