I built a PC specific for using FRAPS and Video Editing

I7 3770, 16GB @ 1866, GTX 560Ti, Quad Monitor SSD and RAID

Renders just over 60 FPS with main Concept MP4 in 1920x1080
Countless hours testing and tweaking different hardware and software configurations has seen this rig capable of recording up to 120 FPS.
The attached album shows the stages of build. Happy to answer any questions or take advice.

So things change, its now a racing sim.

Talking about an overkill PSU :D

Ever thought about changing the case, to have at least a little bit of cable management?

Not really this case provides ample space to work with not pretty however fan placement is good and supports 120 mm front and rear and 80 mm in side panel.

Both CPU and GPU stay under 60 c in real world situations.

The PSU is overkill however my mains power is not exactly stable I estimate a theoretical peek of 500 Watts.

This headroom has provided superb stability even while at load during minor power events.

I am quite proud of this system it has all ready endured over 10 thousand hours of use and still performs remarkably.

A new GPU and it a perfect machine for FRAPS recordings.

Video

Work in progress all monitors need replacing and another 970 or two and row added to return to 16:9 ratio.

Screens are 4x 21.5" wide 2x 19" 4:3

When complete monitors will will have their bezels removed and installed in a purpose built cabinet.

At the moment I'm running on mixed GPU's and using SoftTH to create the large surface.

When i raise enough cash I will use common GPU's and create a single 3x3 nVidia surround hopefully.

In the mean time I plan to purchase USB3 to DVI display port adapters to add the last row.

So far the Single 970 has handled up to 5760x2160 with grace.

I'm still experimenting and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

Those six monitors. Why? You can't even play something considering aiming and driving will always be in the middle.

Six was only a stepping stone. Now I have nine.

The next stage is removing the bezels and creating a custom mount for them all. This will take me some time as I'm having too much fun with them all on swinging arms.

Removing the bezels sounds easier than it really is. No offense but wouldn't it be easier to buy yourself a 40'' monitor or 3 30''+?

I just don't see any point of using 9 monitors... 6 is enough really. Hell 3 plus 1 up top is perfect.

Stupid bezels. Stupid visual experience.

Also a resolution of 5760*3240 is not something you can buy yet.

Bezels aren't that bad guys. You get used to them. Just think of it as being in like a cage or a helmet.

Man with experience.

Here is my current layout  ATI on top nVidia center bottom Onboard + Display port out from GTX

I was able to remove the GTX 560 and GT 620 and replace with an ATI 7770 and 2 Active Display port to DVI adapters.

This config is producing up to 110 FPS with Low load tests and most games playable at 30 FPS with Medium settings.

I have attached some random screenshots that were small enough to upload.
