Chinese iPhone X

So my friend bought a chinese iPhone X on craigslist with chinese firmware, and he doesnt have access to some of the features that north american iphones have. Would he be able to flash a north american ipsw onto the phone or would it brick it?

Depending on what version of iOS it's on you can try and jailbreak it with uncover and try and flash the north American firmware from there but I'm not sure if you can find a reliable source for NA firmware, or if you could find a reliable app on whatever the jailbroken iphone app store version is called to do it for you.

im not sure what version he's on but im pretty sure its the latest. so i wouldnt be able to download a global ipsw and just install it through itunes.
