I bought an old used HP pc but when I turn it on it starts beeping and a red light stsrts flickering on the power button how do I fix it

idk anything about the pc maybe the ram isnt ok I can switch it but I have 2 ddr2 sticks idk in which slots should I put it in

Also there are OEM's with standard atx components.

Have you tried reseating the memory?

The specs are 2x512mb of ram i think, Intel core 2 vPro I dont know the exact method and yea btw after 5secs of beeping the pc starts to sound like a jet engine

try remove one stick

I have old ram sticks that weren't in this pc, shpuld I replace them,if yes where do I put them there are 4 slots

well try using ram that came with pc

 use a single stick an switch between slots

btw guys ty i fixed it, apparantly some of the ram sticks were bad so I switched them
