Disk Clean Up Help

Go to solution Solved by Nathanpete,

Download the program WinDirStat. Run it and it will show which folders are the largest, what kind of file types are taking the most space, and other possibly useful info. It is fantastic for disk space debugging.

Hello. I am running out of disk space so I went into the files to delete some things that I do not need anymore(I uninstall apps there control panel). I am having a problem though. I clicked on each file and did estimated the how much storage it was taking and it did not add up. So I went through each file on that drive, clicked properties and then copied the bytes and added them all up and the number did not add up to what it says how much space is getting used. Adding up all the folders I got 230,006,305,296 Bytes (230.006305296 GigaBytes). But out of my 1TB hard drive which I am only getting 931GB of usable space it says I only have 30.6GB free of the 931GB. So 230GB is getting used according to each one of the files that I clicked on inside of the hard drive, and I have 30.6GB free so thats 260.6. So where is my 670.4GB at? How do I check where else storage is getting used up at? I have had this issue before and I formatted the drive and its happening again? If someone could please PLEASE help me out that would be great because I can only think of buying a new drive at this point but I don want it happening to that drive to. I think you guys and girls can help me out ;)
