Hi everyone.

A few days ago I bought a Zotac GTX 760 from eBay. Seller had 100% positive feedback and said it had not been run for more than a few hours. When it arrived, I noticed when the fan was spinning there was a slight buzzing sound, as if it was catching on a wire or heat sink. It seems to be the stock cooler design with Zotac branding.

After a bit of research, I found this video with a nearly identical 760 with the same buzzing sound as mine.

I'm interested, does anyone know if this is normal for the card, or if it is a known problem that I could RMA the card for, even if I am the second owner? (I don't know if being the second owner gives me the same rights for replacement as I would normally have)

I don't really want to have to open up the card to see what the problem is as I would probably break it in the process so if this is not a simple fix I will most likely sell on the card to buy a new 760 with a different cooler.

He got it off ebay, so he may not be able to RMA it, also that's not coil whine

sounds like a quieter version of it though

RMA it if you have original receipt? No that is not normal for 760 or Zotac 760.

Bad bearings, so you'd need a new fan.

That's what I thought it would be.

Oh, I see what you mean, besides the fan noise I can hardly hear the slight whine

With mine it is more prominent.

The fan is running up against something. You can take off the shroud and look for any scratches or defects on  the edge of the fan blades and if there is you can shave it down a little bit.

As much as i'd like to try, I would probably break something in the process (I've already broken a NIC this week)

RMA it if you have original receipt? No that is not normal for 760 or Zotac 760.

The seller hasn't sent any receipts of purchase in the box. I will try and ask him again if he can provide proof of purchase.

Thanks everyone.

It is probably the fan bearing and or something is touching the fan..... if u are not a pro i would not recommend taking of the shroud as you might wreck something...... if u want go ahead but its just my recceomendation...... if u have  the orignal recipt and the box u could rma it
