Because of a CPU bottleneck? I would agree. At some point I would really recommend upgrading to a 4th gen Optiplex with a standard PSU, chuck in a 550 watt PSU and slap in a used RX 580 and a 500gb SSD.

Well right now it’s in a regular case, with a 350 watt psu oem and a 500gb laptop drive. I already bought the i5 3470 and a adata 240gb hard drive that’s about 65$. My budget isn’t the greatest right now

Yeah 2 core and 4 threads ain’t good so I hope with the i5 I can run my games with less stutter and more fps

Yeah, that's more of a long term thing. If my memory serves correctly, the Optiplex 7010 uses standard power connectors, right? So perhaps make it a medium term goal to save $150 or so to buy a decent PSU (say $40), and buy a used RX 580 or RX 570. Just my two cents, but a CPU upgrade would really help. Good luck.

Could you direct me to a good cheap power supply? I have around 150 to spend on a psu and motherboard I’m tight on my budget due to covid

PSUs are in very short supply at the moment so this would be about $40, you can also pick one up at midweek madness (A Wensday sale EVGA does)

And I assume you mean $150 to spend on PSU and GPU, not motherboard, right?

I have 200 for the i5 3470/ssd and the gpu and cpu
