Hey guys

I just bought a game on Steam that I want to play with a 360 controller that has the battery with the wire like that

I thought that by keeping the plug inside the USB port of my PC it would work fine, so I downloaded drivers for wireless controller, but it still doesnt find the controller when I press the Xbox button in the center. What is strange is that when I plug it in my USB port, Windows recognise that it is a xbox controller.

That cable is purely for charging I think, they don't make it a wired controller with the PC. Like @elkenrod said, you'll need the wireless adapter, but it can be a pain to set up. The only other option is to get a wired controller which is just plug and play.

Wired = easiest setup ever.

Step 1 - buy controller.

Step 2 - plug in.

Step 3 - play!

 Yeah I've ran into the same issue attempting to use the same setup. You have to use either a wireless receiver or a purely wired controller.

 In my opinion just buying a wired one is the easiest.
