I know that the 780ti is the best gaming gfx card out at the moment, but is it really worth the extra £150-200 more than the standard 780 (Using the EVGA versions for example as there my favourite brand for my cards)?

No worth the extra money for the bump in performance imo. The situation is different if you have unlimited monies though.

Did forget to mention I will soon be running at 5760x1080 if that makes any difference to the card choice

Nope.  They both have 3GB VRAM which should be OK for 3 x 1080p screens (any more and you might want to look at the 6GB Titan).

The GTX 780ti is 15% faster clock per clock... well almost, since the GTX 780ti has a faster memory clock.

Example -  GTX 780Ti  @ 1100/1750 is 15% faster than a GTX 780 @ 1100/1502

5820K - ASUS X99-A - 16GB Corsair LPX - HD 7970 GHz - Qnix 1440p @ 96Hz - Waiting for Polaris/Pascal

That should be good then. Only reason that I'm thinking of upgrading is because my current card (EVGA GTX 670 Signature 2) while still being a beastly card, there doesn't seem to be many about any more and I do want to go SLI soonish.

A single 780 Ti isn't enough for maxed settings for a good number of games even now..

still better than a 780 then, the only advantage to the 780 is that its cheaper and so less money for sli.
