Is there a difference between the cooler on an old pentium (E5300) and a i5 3570k? I would assume yes, but an answer would be great.

Anybody know? It would be helpful to run on the stock cool that I have until I can get a nicer one.

If the holes line up do you think it would work? I know AMD has different stock coolers and they all look the same to me. So I don't know if there is difference between a pentium cooler and a i5 cooler.

Can't you just try it out? The TDP of the E5300 is 65 W according to Intel's ark,

which is pretty close to the 3570k's 77 W. So as long as you don't overvolt, the

cooler should be able to dissipate the heat from a 3570k. Keep an eye on temps

just to be sure (if the mounting system is compatible).

PS: I don't think there's a need to bump threads so quickly. A bit of patience goes

a long way. ;)

Thank You, I will just try it.

And yeah I am feeling impatient today, tests and homework without sleep is not good.
