What is 'IPS-Level'?

Thinking of buying a GS66 Stealth 10SGS which suggests a 15.6" FHD (1920x1080), 300Hz, IPS-Level screen.  What does IPS-Level refer to here?  Is it IPS?  Is it TN?  Can't seem to see much information about it online.

The reviews I quickly looked up all seem to list it as an IPS panel, so I suspect that wording is just unintentionally awkward.

Maybe they just mean "not curved" with "level". Although it sounds like "captain obvious" to me then since its laptop

I believe it may be due to the fact that "IPS" is trademarked by LG so other manufacturers are unable to list theirs as IPS. Try and find reviews on the panel, such as by notebookcheck. They will give you details on colour accuracy and viewing angles- the main points to look for on IPS

I have a different model of the gs66 stealth. I believe it is ips just worded weirdly.

Aha! So thats why my samsung IPS also has some "odd" ips notation maybe (s-IPS)?
