Especially on a budget low-capacity SSD, I can't expect that it would last for 5 years. Not having DRAM cache puts more strain on the flash memory cells lowering their lifespan and the lower capacity models typically have much lower longevity than their higher-capacity counterparts. Just make sure to have a backup of your data and you can safely use the drive until it fails (if you are still within the return-window then I would recommend returning the drive). If the manufacturer has some drive testing software then I would try it out (https://www.kingston.com/us/support/technical/ssdmanager).

GUYS OMG I FIXED THE PROBLEM.

I WAS DISABLED WRITE CACHE.

I RE-ENABLED IT.

AND MY PROBLEM FIXED

LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL SPEED.

The drive has no DRAM cache, and the limited capacity means that there are fewer NAND chips to interlace. So the slower speeds don't seem off to me.

No. The read speed is good, and is more important depending on your use. If it'll be used as just a boot drive it's fine. It's a cheap SSD so you get what you pay for.

He has a larger capacity drive which will be faster for a number of reasons. He is likely on a different platform.

RMA it if you want to. I don't think a different drive will perform very differently.

Your SSD doesn't have any DRAM cache so I am not surprised about the benchmarked results, it could be that background tasks are using up disk usage (check in Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc), unless you drive is performing way below the rated speed or what other users of the same model are getting, I wouldn't be that concerned since older drives (this goes for HDDs and SSDs) will usually lose some performance overtime.

Drives of larger capacity will usually lose less of their performance than smaller drives with use and are usually rated for longer lifespans.

I will use this for daily usage and lessons. I am planing to use 5 years. I bought this because i was using Windows 10 on a 5400 rpm HDD. Okey then, should i continue using? I DISABLED Write Cache. Should i enable it?

Especially on a budget low-capacity SSD, I can't expect that it would last for 5 years. Not having DRAM cache puts more strain on the flash memory cells lowering their lifespan and the lower capacity models typically have much lower longevity than their higher-capacity counterparts. Just make sure to have a backup of your data and you can safely use the drive until it fails (if you are still within the return-window then I would recommend returning the drive). If the manufacturer has some drive testing software then I would try it out (https://www.kingston.com/us/support/technical/ssdmanager).

Are you referring to the built-in Windows 10 "Defragment and Optimize Drives" program or other third-party software utilities?

I would leave it to optimize monthly, good SSDs don't really need to be optimized nor do they get that much benefit in being optimized, although I have seen that budget SSDs can sometimes benefit from it. Optimizing an SSD isn't the same as defragmenting and won't damage your drive, all it does essentially is cleaning up deleted files and helps to keep your drive working fast.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,
