Ok thanks, I’m new to building PCs. What are the differences in firmware? What exactly does that mean?

i will be optimized for certain applications in nas enviroment.

elsewhere it will be the same as any hdd.

So I have just found out that the HDD I’ve ordered is a NAS, I have looked into it and found that they are meant for external servers. But have also seen many people use them internally. Will it be ok?

It will work. Its not ideal since NAS drives tend to have NAS optimised firmwares but it shouldn't cause you any issues.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

It means the drives have tweaks done in firmware to tailor them for possibly running 24/7 for their entire lives. NAS Drives also tend to be tailored towards RAID since its very likely a NAS drive will end up in a RAID config.
