I am about to do a bios update when I noticed that my system only detects 16gb of ram, despite being able to see all 32gb in the memory section. Also despite having my memory on XMP profile 2, it's only running at 2133MHz. I've been having troubles with the system as it sometimes takes multiple boots just to load into windows despite me having the boot drive set as the first preference

Take all the sticks out, put them back in and see if it shows 32GB. Sometimes DIMMs can go recognized but unusable because the sticks dont fit in the slot quite right.

 

As for XMP, with Gigabyte you have to manually set the memory frequency to whatever you want. turning on XMP only makes it follow XMP profile for timings and voltage.

Ok so I reseatead the memory and now it wont boot at all.

I just noticed that on the board there at 2 red LEDs on that say cpu and ram. On the mobo its days those are for testing. I dont get what it means if both of them are on

Clear CMOS. otherwise you may need to turn off the PSU and remove the CMOS battery, press the power button to drain any leftover power from the system, then put power and battery back in to clear it better.

Didnt work. Its saying there is a problem with the cpu and DRAM still

I would take the CPU out and let it sit, before putting it back in and see if it works. If you dont want to do that maybe try using 1 stick at a time?

Ok so I've got it working with one stick. So the cpu isnt an issue.

I think I found a problem, I accidentally downloaded a beta version of the latest bios, I've downloaded the previous version and am installing it now

Ok so I tested all the sticks and only 1 boots into the bios, the rest dont.

Ok so I went out on a limb and installed a 2nd stick, it didnt detect initially so I cleared CMOS I turned the pc on and now it detects it.

Ryzen is sloppy with memory, but it shouldnt be this bad

 

does XMP work properly with 2 sticks?

Yea. I just put all 4 models back in and found that it was only detecting 16gb. So I pulled out the ones I knew work and moved them to lot 2 n 4, and detected all 16gb. I then tests just alot 1 and 3, detected 8gb, tested only alot 3 and the system doesnt work. I though if I had memory in slot 1,2 and 4 it would come up as 24gb.
