Here is a build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Ub44

It is a little over budget because I went with a 7850 instead of a 7790. The build includes an OS, Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse. One thing to note is that the motherboard isn't the best and should be a better model if you can fit it in.

I see Windows 7 and a Monitor in his part picker unless he added that after you posted.

Windspeed was referring to the OP I believe, who only said he needed a full complement of peripherals. As for my post, the OS, Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor were there before he posted.

Might want to at least try compiling a list of components and then asking for advice and fine tuning. If you don't understand how to do that then I would suggest learning some hardware basics and reading/watching reviews of various components. I'm always happy to help but asking others to basically do something for you doesn't seem fair to me - especially since this is for your friend, you probably shouldn't be offering to help him if you don't know what you're doing. Just trying to be fair. :)

what do you think?

Nice build. Some of my initial thoughts and possible changes would be:

Change the Phenom II X4 for an FX 6300, replace the SSD with a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda, and change the Corsair CX 430W to the semi-modular version. Would be about $2.75 more than your configuration. :)
