Okay im overwhelmed and need some help for my wife and I lol. Ill definitely be asking for help with other things but ill start with cloud storage, thanks in advance!

So we want to buy a cloud storage where we can backup our photos, phones, important documents, videos, and backup our computers. What we have: chromebook, ipad, windows pc, both have iphones, macbook, and a linux pc for school. We have maybe 6-8tbs of stuff. Idk if its worth mentioning too, but plan on making a Home media server to watch our videos and listen to our music, not sure if cloud can help with that too without needing something local?

we do have DSL though

Can someone recommend something for us. Chrome seemed to work good but feel like they have there fingers and noses in everything? Or am I being to paranoid about them.

I trust backblaze quite a lot. if you ever need to restore your files, they send you a hard drive with all your data back so you don't have to rely on slow internet.

I use the new edge browser with ublock origin (blocks ads and some trackers).

new edge is basiclly rebranded chrome, but the browser doesn't relly matter.

well yes.. but actually no...

It is based on chromium and not chrome

chromium is a basic set of code that is the rendering engine etc for the browser but everything on top is custom. LOTS of browsers use chromium but they are not all chrome.

edge on chromium  re-did the memory management so it uses significantly less ram. it also has some built in tracking prevention.

it does collect a lot of data (i think even more than chrome) but it all goes to microsoft instead of google.
