Hi, I have a g sync monitor that is either 120 or 144 Hz and I recently factory reset my computer. All my games used to run just fine at the 120 or 144 FPS that the monitor can run but now everything is running at a much lower FPS (Probably 60). I tried googling what to do and it told me to fix it in the Nvidia control panel. There's 2 different tabs in there where you can adjust the fps, which one am I supposed to change and how do I figure out if I should change it to 120 or 144 Hz?

Not a monitor specs person, myself but I’ll tell you what I can.  I can tell you Some monitors claim 144 but can really only do 120 well. Even then sometimes they need special settings. You apparently reset your computer but not your monitor though.

With 2 windows and 2 settings you’ve got 8 possible solutions. If worse comes to worse it could be brute forced.  Hopefully a better answer will appear.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

There are two ways to set refresh rate.  Right click the desktop, go to Display Settings scroll down and click Advanced display settings.  Choose Display adapter properties for your display, then click the monitor tab and make sure its set to the correct refresh rate.

The other way is to go to the section of the nvidia driver control panel where you set the screen resolution and change the refresh rate there.
