Hey, looking to upgrade from a i5 7400 to a AMD Ryzen 9 3900k. Already ordered the AMD motherboard.  I know it’s a big leap, so I am cautious of bottleneck, mostly because my GPU is a AMD RX 580 4GB. A budget gpu, but it definitely packs a punch. Will this CPU upgrade cause any GPU bottleneck? I read bottlneck calculator is a full on scam POS. I have 16GB of RAM (DDR4) if that helps anything. First post here so I hope I’m doing it right, thanks guys!

Hi welcome!!

The new Cpu will push the card to higher FPS than you've ever seen before!! The bottle neck in gaming now will be the Gpu and not the Cpu.

That's all. Good luck with the build!

The speed of the RAM is 3200Mhz. The link to the RAM I’m using: https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Vengeance-3200MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B07D1XCKWW#mobile-twister_style_name_1592518850182

as far as what I’ll use it for, programs like Blender Render, 3D modeling, multitasking, etc.

The R9 3900X is a nice big jump in performance compared to the i5 7400, it will be like going from a Geo to a Lambo lol.
