If you don't wanna spend much, an arctic freezer 34 would be a good idea. You can either add 2x 140mm arctic fans in the front (f14 or p14), or I have a feeling it would be fine if you had 3x 120mm intakes, which would require only 1 more 120mm fan. Again arctic, either f12 or p12.

The 2x 140mm intakes & 2x 120mm exhausts would be flawless with anything at least as big as the freezer 34 (non esport). I think any 4 heatpipe cooler more expensive or smaller than the freezer 34 is a waste of money.

Other coolers I'd consider (quickly browsing through my favorite store): noctua nh d15, nf u12a; thermalright true spirit 140 power, silver arrow ibe, archon ibe; be quiet dark rock 4 (pro)

Hi guys! I'm building my first rig. The components are as the following

Quote

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CCKhp8

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor  (Purchased For $299.59)
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard  (Purchased For $176.54)
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  (Purchased For $145.49)
Storage: HP EX950 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  (Purchased For $131.58)
Storage: Western Digital Blue 3 TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  (Purchased For $0.00)
Video Card: ASRock Radeon RX 5500 XT 4 GB Challenger D OC Video Card  (Purchased For $172.59)
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case  ($99.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  ($144.99 @ Best Buy)

The Fractal Design Meshify C comes with two 120mm fans. I'm wondering which option is better:

  1. Buy a third party cpu cooler
  2. Buy two 140mm fans

I mainly run CPU intensive job and hope to have a quiet rig.

both, buy two arctic p12 as intakes. I am using arctic p12 and arctic freezer 34 esports duo. Idle temperature is 40-50, gaming temperature 62 C max. Your case has better airflow than my define mini C so I will expect lower temperature. total cost for me for this upgrade is around 60 USD

Thank you dude! Just purchased the arctic freezer 34. Ideally, I would like to have a be quiet dark rock 4. But it is out of my budget. I'll consider adding the other two 1400 fans later

I hope it will work well with the 3700x. Could you tell me about it? (so I know for sure whether I'd better stop recommending it or not 🙃 )
