The Gigabyte would be better because it has 12 + 2 + 1 power phase compared to MSI's 10 + 1.

Having more power phases will reduce ripples, which can cause instability to the system. Having more will mean that the power will be evenly distributed with the phases and it will create less heat and become more efficient of having more power phases.

So would it be better to get the Gigabyte then or isn't it the big of deal between gigabyte and msi.

Gigabyte and MSI are both good brands imo. Should have seen the power phases before telling you which one to choose. Sorry for misleading you.  I would go for the Gigabyte one because of having more power phases.
