New graphics card?

So just built a new computer and looking to upgrade the GPU in the future

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Processor 
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard 
Memory: G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  
Storage: PNY CS900 120 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  
Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive 
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4 GB STRIX Video Card 
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mini Tower Case 
Power Supply: Corsair CX (2017) 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power supply

 

It's not the exact GPU but it's a ASUS 970 4GB

just asking for some feedback on what cards I should look into 

Budget is around 300-350 ish

Also any other suggestions are cool

If the GPU releases hold for this winter, then the GPU landscape will change.   When do you plan on upgrading?  What performance are you ideally looking for?

New GPUs should drop in September. If you don’t want to wait, you might be able to find a 5700xt in your budget (most are 380-400 but can be found on sale for 350 or less). If you want ray tracing or nvec, get a 2060 super.

Preferably high settings on most games

Modern warfare is a little bit intensive, ark, battlefront 2 and border lands

all of them run just not at peak settings

The price range you have given is the territory of the NVIDIA 2060 or the Radeon 5600XT generally.

Should I just wait til new cards come out, I can save for those potentially

Yes, unless your current system just will not do what you need.  I would wait.
