Hi,

I recently upgraded my i7-3770k system with a RX580 8gb and it's somewhat underperforming, seems like a CPU bottleneck.

As a result I'm trying to kill any non-essential background processes. Is it possible to remove Radeon Software and run just a driver? If not what should be disabled to make it as light a load as possible? Seems like there are a bunch of features like instant replay that may be loading my system that I don't need.

It's unlikely to be a cpu bottleneck. What are the rest of your specs? (ram, etc.)

You need to manually install the driver via Device Manager.

I agree, before I bought the rx580 most sources said it was about as far as you could go before having bottlenecks on a 3770k

Here is a link to the other thread I started in the troubleshooting forum regarding the performance issue I was having:

But a quick summary here:

System spec:

OS: Win7 pro 64bit

CPU: I7 3770k

GPU: Asus RX580 8gb (used from local seller)

MOBO: P8Z77-V pro

RAM 12 GB DDR3 (2*4gig and 2*2gig in dual channel mode, in alternating A/B/A/B slots)

Samsung 840 pro (os on this disk)

Samsung 860 Evo 1 tb (games on this disk).

PSU: Silverstone 850W 'strider gold'

My issue is that in COD MW on high settings 1680*1050 (I have an older 16:10 monitor) I'm seeing the GPU load on Radeon Software go from 0-100% intermittently and the cpu load staying at around 50-60% FPS is somewhere between 45-60 but the issue is it seems quite unstable/stutters.

I upgraded from a gtx670 and used ddu.exe in safe mode to wipe the PC.

Last night I ran a 3dMark firestrike bench and got the following results. I compared the results to the 3dmark database, my notes are included.

https://www.3dmark.com/fs/22889508

Graphics Score
14 395 - seems to hit the upper end of other benchmarks
Physics Score
9 624 - oddly there are two populations in the 3dmark data mine is lined up with the lower of the two peaks
Combined Score
4 356 slightly lower than average.

Is this anyway around Radeon Software or a general fix for my underperforming issue?

Not for your underperforming issue.

My 3770@4.1ghz get 10.9k CPU score in Firestrike, yours seems slightly low.

Also your RAM configuration is odds imo, at what clock speed btw?

I have since changed the setup to 16gb ram 4*4gb. Both kits are rated to 1866 but I could not get them to run at that speed so they are currently set to 1333.

My system is at stock clock speeds. Asus monitoring shows 3.7ghz at load. Which seems low.
