So I just got a new rig, custom made pre-owned, and was wondering if anyone could help me get to the bottom of a major issue I've been facing with my gpu. My computer keeps crashing unless Vsync is turned on while gaming. Is my gpu broken or is it the whole monitor issue I'm currently facing....

The story goes, I got the pc from someone local it came with an Intel i5 4690k and I believe it had a gtx 790ti or something similar as well as 16gb of ddr3 ram and a 650gb ssd. When the pc was like this it was fine and running well with a 650w psu but when I upgraded my gpu to a rtx 2060S in Hope's of future proofing It i ran into my issue. My monitor is broken so as much of a bad time as it is I am using a very crappy 43 inch 30hz tv, dont hate i have a monitor on the way as I'm writing this, but when I play any intensive game like War Zone, DayZ, Rust, Escape from Tarkov and so on I will hop on run it for maybe 10 minutes and my pc will freeze blue screen and tell me it ran into an issue. I have done everything from re-install windows, to running a drive check and repair, to doing all the disc checks in command prompt and probably everything else I can think of other than screwing with my BIOS and this still happens. BUT. Not all is lost for me as I can simply go onto any game causing an issue and turn Vsync on and the problem is 100% solved. So my Questions for all you pros out there.

Did I get a faulty gpu or is my tv so garbage it's literally causing my gpu to crash?

Will getting my 144hz monitor fix this issue or will a new gpu be required. I just dont see how though I was getting poor frames with my gtx 790ti I would run the games with out any signs of crashing on the same tv unless the new card was faulty in some way...?????

Sorry 😂 very new to the pc scene and am still learning but I truly appreciate how quick of a response this was I have not used ddu yet so I will do that asap but i did use clean installation but suppose that may not have worked my temps are fine hovering in and around the 68c to 75c so I really dont think it's that but if you think no one can know for sure I suppose I will have to wait until the monitor comes and hope I can still return the gpu if it still acting up. Thank you again

Ddu usually does a better job cleaning drivers

650w antec true power

If it's the one that I'm thinking of then yeesh that's a terrible PSU

Can you maybe test the card (after you ddu ) in another system maybe a friend's one or something

If it works perfectly normal it is 90% a PSU problem

but if it's a psu issue I'm happy

Before making a definitive answer on my end

Try the card in a friend's system or something ( after you ddu ) just to make sure

What is the Blue Screen Error?

Does it give you a stop code?

Ddu does a better job than a clean windows install

When you reinstall windows it auto downloads really old janky drivers

Yes it does believe it or not
