Need help with first RAID setup

I have two questions, one do I need the same specific drives (I’m using nvme drives) or just the same amount of storage on the drives, and two what RAID should I use for my drives?

I want to experiment with raid, don’t have the money to buy a 2tb PCIE gen4 ssd, and need the storage.

Okay but like RAID 1 isn't really nessiary at all

 

and RAID 0 is going to risk your data constantly pretty much

 

You can just set up a simple RAID volume in windows, or do it in your motherboard bios.

 

The Gen 4 SSDs aren't actually that much better, because they haven't made Gen 4 controllers yet.
