X570 and PSU

Go to solution Solved by Grabhanem,

It's not really necessary. It's just extra power in case the CPU draws over 384 watts, but that kind of power consumption is basically impossible to cool without liquid nitrogen or other exotic cooling, so 99.9% of people won't need it.

Hello all,

Today  I ordered new Asus Prime X570-Pro and Ryzen 9 3900x (upgrading from i7-7700k/AsusPrimeZ270) and just now i'm seeing that there is not 8 Pin CPU connection but with additional 4 pin.

So my question's is do I need an additional 4 pin connector and if yes what would be that additional 4 pin connector for and does I need to look for additional cable, because my Corsair RM850x dont have such cable... thanks for all help guys!

I have a Corsair RM1000x and it came with a bag inside the box that had a boatload of cables of all sorts.  Did yours also have the bag with the cables?  If not, then you need to contact Corsair and let them know that your purchase was short on the cables.  I know that I have cables that I will never use but at least I know I have them.  Since it is a fully modular, Corsair should be able to just mail you the cable that you were shorted.  Good Luck.
