Hey all,

Specs:

AMD Athlon 3000g

Asrock B450 Fatality ITX/AC

1 stick of 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 RAM

GPUs: MSI GeForce GTX 950 and AMD HD 5450

Windows 10 Home

As of yesterday morning, the computer was setup with the GTX 950 and 3 monitors plugged into the card (1 DVI-D, 1 DVI-D->DisplayPort adapter, 1 HDMI). I noticed the card wasn't able to downclock itself and remained 10 degrees Celsius warmer than it should be (37 degrees instead of a usual 27 at idle), so I decided to plug one of the monitors into the motherboard. The monitor lost its display. It knew it was plugged in, but went into idle/sleep as there was no input. I checked out Device Manager | Display Adapters and the Vega 3 graphics from the 3000g wasn't being picked up. I went to the AMD site and grabbed the WHQL set of drivers, but the drivers failed to install, giving error 182. I ended up removing all monitors from the GPU, going into Safe Mode and running Display Driver Uninstaller.

At this point, I have 2 monitors plugged into the motherboard. I get back into Windows and the monitors now have a display. Device Manager shows that the Microsoft Basic Video Adapter is being used to drive video to those monitors. I went into my Downloads folder and installed the latest AMD video drivers. All is good, but the motherboard only has 2 video ports, so one of my monitors still needs a port. I decided to shut down and plug in my HD 5450. Booted back into Windows and Device Manager does not show the graphics card. I went the DDU route again, booted back into Windows and tried installing the legacy AMD drivers that work for the HD 5450. No video drivers were installed, only sound and problem reporting wizard/manager. Computer still not detecting the dGPU HD 5450. I shut down and reinstalled the GTX 950. Same thing, computer not reading the dGPU.

I noticed a setting in the BIOS for Primary Display Adapter, but switching it between the iGPU and dGPU did not impact any behavior. My end goal is to have 2 monitors plugged into the motherboard and 1 into the HD 5450. Any idea what else to try or what the issue might be?
