Hey guys would really like some help from those a lot more knowledgeable than me

My current build:
i7-4790k (4.5GHz)

msi sli z97

Hyper 212 Air cooler

24gb ram (Long story)

GTX 1070 ZOTAC AMP

Corsair cx600m semi modular bronze

crucial p1 500gb m.2

After 5 years of ownership I finally can justify an upgrade of cpu and plan on switching teams (I live in Australia btw). I play competitive games and have competed on and off in rainbow six siege. Have a 144hz 1080p monitor but would like more fps.

R7 3700x (I am considering the cheaper and all around great performer r5 3600 however I have waited a long time to upgrade and want the luxury of more cores)

msi b450 gaming pro carbon max (Would it be worth moving up to x470 or x570? Im not a heavy overclocker at all, do not ever plan on going sli. Would you recommend this board? Its budget friendly and I can get it from a local retailer which is nice)

Corsair Vengance RGB PRO 3600MHz 32gb (A bit overkill but I like to have two dimms later for 64gb)

I do not plan on upgrading power supply however I get this error:

image.thumb.png.b06d3780426646fb6d24cc7441d9dea8.png

So is it time to upgrade? its not a big deal, any recommended power supplies?

Forgot to mention I play the following games:

Overwatch

Rainbow Six Siege ( I almosty always get around 144hz when playing publicy however in tournament the background scanning programs that are neccasary for competition drop that down to 120 and 110 which is quite annoying)

COD Modern Warfare 9wish to run the game a lot better aha)

BO4 zombies (cant actually run it atm for some reason :/)

volorant

Thank you so much for your time!

If you dont need to upgrade right now, new cpus, gpus, and b550 are right around the corner. I would wait for those.

I believe that the extra 4-pin is only used for extreme over clocking. As for a recommendation for a new one, check out the psu tier list on the forum. I keep seeing the cooler master mwe as a good one.

Also, you could save money and get a case for about half as much.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Quote or tag me so I can see your response

Wait a couple of more days, the B550 boards release then, and I personally would go shopping on the used B450 market when it drops. But if you like your products new check out and see if you might be able to order and pickup your own B550 board, however I would be surprised if they sell out quick or possibly take a bit longer to reach the EU.

@Dransk I agree with @zeusthemoose on the case.

The Corsair 460X has a POOR case front design; the SOLID front glass panel HEAVILY restricts / starves the front 3x case fans of airflow.

Strongly suggested that you look at other case alternatives.

Have a look at something like:

Phanteks P400A Digital -- $159.00

If you MUST get the Corsair 460X, consider the 465X instead. It is the REVISED version of the 460X -- $235.00

Yeah I know it is not the greatest case however I got it as a gift, but I am very happy with it. Case market was a lot different back then.
I like the looks :)

Thanks for the heads up man, I will wait a bit.

My graphics card is second hand, Ive never had a new graphic card. And I bought the CPU cheap (relative to Australia prices) in the US at micro center when I was over.

I think Im gonna go new with motherboard and cpu just cause there are a lot of things I cannot diagnose at point of sale like all dimm slots and that jazz. Thanks man!

Ohhh...you already have the case. Fair.

We thought you are still looking to BUY a case because of the price/cost attached to it.
