Dual Channel Ram Help

im looking at getting a second pair of RAM for my PC, i have checked to make sure the timings and speed are the same (i am getting another kit of the exact same model ram), I was just looking and The Ryzen 5 2600X can only support Dual Channel, Does that mean i can't add 2 sticks or is that not what dual channel means.

Dual channel means two ram sticks can be addressed at the same time, so you ideally want something like 2x8GB of ram.

i currently have 2x8GB sticks installed and i need to increase my ram capacity,

Your memory will operate with two sticks per channel, so you will have dual channel still.

ok so adding 2 more sticks just increases the capacity but stays in dual channel as opposed to quad channel. Thanks'

Yes, as I'm sure you guessed only expensive CPUs get quad channel, like threadripper and such. It requires a more expensive motherboard and memory controller.
