I'm trying to figure out if I have a bad GPU or not.  This is a brand new PC and I only have a few days left on my return window before I'll have to solve this differently. Any help would be appreciated.

A few weeks back I posted that I was getting these black lines jumping all over my screen while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 and it gradually grew worse to the point the game was crashing with errors. The conclusion that I came to on the CoD forums was that it wad a game issue since many people across many different builds, and even consoles, had this issue.

However, over the last few days I've been playing WoW and just started getting the same graphical glitch in that game too. Then half my screen turned green even on desktop. When I tried hooking a different monitor up, the port wasn't even displaying anymore.

Is this a mobo or GPU problem or something else? Because I've also noticed that sometimes my mystic light headers don't want to work either on top of my computer hard locking a few times where alli audio, sound, other monitors, even the mouse stopped responding. This happened while I was in WoW.

Anyways here are my specs.

Okay I used DDU to get rid of my display drivers and then reinstalled them fresh. This is the only video card I have ever had in here, but made sure that it didn't find any other drivers just to be sure. I have never overclocked it, and I don't believe it is overclocked. This is what it says on the tuning screen,

I suspect it's defective VRAM - return the Gigabyte model and get one from Sapphire (the Pulse or Nitro+) or the PowerColor Red Devil.

Also, return that power supply and get a good one - the Corsair RMx or BitFenix Formula for example.

What is going to be the difference between the pulse or nitro?

Well my screen isn't half green anymore, but I won't know about the in game problems without a few hours of play. Currently I am waiting in queue to get into WoW so I can see if it is still acting up.

The Nitro+ is the highest end model while the Pulse is a mid-range card. Obviously the Nitro+ will use better capacitors, chokes and an entirely custom Sapphire PCB.

Gotcha. So are the Gigabyte cards bad cards? I would just prefer not to have to deal with Amazon shipping ATM because it took about 2 weeks just to get this card, I'd hate to be out 4+ weeks waiting to refund it and then buying something else.

After about 50mins in WoW I didn't notice anything going on. I am about to play CoD for a few hours and see what happens there.

If the effect is gone then it was just a driver issue

If your card runs fine, keep it. Gigabyte models usually have more issues since the cards aren't as well tuned and built as Sapphire models.
