thoughts on this switch?

It's gigabit and seems solid, I don't see anything that stands out as to why you shouldn't get it.

I have 3x 8 port switches from TP-link and they have been fine for a number of years... the one switch that failed on me was a Netgear IIRC, which I replaced with another TP-link. To be fair though I got a complete refund on the failed switch even though I'd had it for over 2-3 years, good ol' Amazon :D

Hi, I'm running out of ethernet ports, and i need a gigabit switch to connect to my NAS and my computer, which is on wifi currently. How is this switch? https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Litewave-Unshielded-Unmanaged-LS1005G/dp/B086384H7C/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=litewave%2Bgigabit&qid=1591540345&sr=8-2&th=1

If you live in a cool climate, switches in plastic housings shouldn't be a problem.

However, for $1 more, you can get the TL-SG108 which has a metal housing for better heat dissipation. Any network device that is fan-less needs good cooling.

Ok. I'll consider that. Where I live usually is pretty cool, so the plastic one should be fine, but I probably will get the metal one. But i think the plastic one looks cooler :)
