Need help with this possible issue

Lelouch69

So I was gonna add a new SSD to my PC and I was like I should check whether the SSD is compatible with my motherboard everything else was good except for this

So like will my motherboard disable one of the SATA ports randomly?

Or will it disable one of the two I am not using right now?

Does it need to be an M.2 ssd? What is it for?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

It should be described on the manufacturer's website or in the manual. On my Tomahawk, the SATA ports 5 and 6 are disabled when an m.2 drive is inserted.

Installation Notices for the M.2 and SATA Connectors: Due to the limited number of lanes provided by the Chipset, the availability of the SATA connectors may be affected by the type of device installed in the M.2 connector. The M2A_32G connector shares bandwidth with the SATA3 5 connector. The M2P_16G connector shares bandwidth with the SATA3 1 connector. Refer to the following tables for details.
