So i have msi afterbuner showing me 92c on my 5700xt gigabyte but it shows it under gpu2 temperature and idk what it means by gpu 2

92*C would probably be your Hotspot / Junction temperature -- what you see at GPU2 Temperature.

There is a GPU temperature (like with any other graphics card), and a Hotspot temperature (the hottest spot on the video card).

Seeing that spike up into the 80*C ~ 90*C for a short amount of time is normal.

You CAN reduce the Junction temperature, and GPU temperature, though.

Undervolt the card by a little bit.

My Sapphire NITRO+ 5700 XT was seeing max Junction / Hotspot temperature of 94*C/95*C, and stock max voltage was 1200 mV.

Dropping the voltage down to 1100 mV, reduced the Junction temperature to 74*C / 75*C, while GPU frequency / boost frequency remaining the same.

( I actually have the GPU voltage down to 1100mV, and (Boost?) frequency up to 2080 MHz right now ... from factory 1200 mV / 2064 MHz.

You'll need to experiment, as each card may be different...but according to other 5700 XT owners, these cards can be undervolted.

You might need 1150mV or 1125mV....or can go with 975mV or less.

and does a 95c junction temperature lower the lifespan of my 570xt

No, brief spikes to 95*C ~ 104*C is fine, but of course, lower is always better.

wait so my junction being at 92 c wont lower the lifespan of the card

No. According to AMD, Junction temperature is safe up until 110*C.

Further reviewer analysis suggests 104*C / 105*C or under is best.

Again, CONSTANT 92*C may not be good, but SUDDEN BURSTS to 92*C is okay.

If you read my last response, undervolting the GPU WILL drop the Junction temperature down significantly.

I saw a ~20*C drop in Junction temperature by reducing the stock voltage from 1200 mV to 1100 mV.

At stock settings, 89*C ~ 90*C, sometimes upt to 92*C is okay.

Do you have the Gigabyte 5700 XT Gaming OC, or the Aorus 5700 XT?

One of my friends have a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5700 XT, and was getting similar Junction temperatures....actually a bit higher because his room was like 28*C+, and poor case airflow at the time. His fans were on Auto, and left voltage at untouched.

I'm telling him to tweak the GPU voltage, and having him report back...
