Ram frequency (?)

Hi there!

 

Out of curiosity, I opened up CPU-Z earlier today, and noticed that my ram frequency was only at 1600mhz:

 

However-  I know for a fact that in my bios I set the ram to 3200mhz.

Also the latency doesn't make sense, where it should have been CL16 ( 16-18-18-36). 

 

Memory:

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Desktop Memory Kit – White (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16W)

 

Rest of system specs:

Asus ROG Strix X570-E gaming

AMD Ryzen 5 3600

GeForce RTX 2070 Super

 

So - is CPU-Z wrong? When I open Ram Cache, I do see it does recognize it can run at a max of 3200mhz:

 

Or is something else going on?

DDR means the data rate is doubled over actual operating frequency, so you are running 3200.

DDR means Double Data Rate, so the frequency will be double what CPU-Z displas.
