Need upgrade advice for PC

This is really just a question to everyone out there, I currently have an i5 6400, GTX 1050 to, 600W PSU - thats all that's really important right now.

I want to upgrade my GPU but I'm not sure which option to go with.

I can either go to a 1660S and leave it at that or I can go to an RTX 2060 but then I'll need a new PSU and a new case as my current case is not the biggest and psu won't be able to cope very well with that GPU.

 

I feel like the rtx route will be smarter overall for the future, but I might be being very silly so please let me know, any advice / suggesions are very appreciated.

What exact model is that power supply?

You also need a new CPU - the 6400 is a very low-clocked (think about 3GHz max turbo) so it will bottleneck even a 1660.

Whats the brand and efficiency of the PSU? 600W should almost certainly be more than enough for a 2060. Also look at some of the smaller zotac models if your worried about size, or the evga KO

I would advise against the EVGA KO - the cooler is very shitty and the card runs very hot as a result.

Thanks for all the help, I think you're right about the PSU, I'll check if it's still working well and then probably won't have to replace it hopefully, also Im going to look into the CPU bottlenecking the GPU.
