Laptop doesnt detect ram

My asus laptop doesnt detect ram

ASUS X550LD laptop

Windows 10 64 bit

i3-4030u

820m

4gb 1600 ddr3 integrated ram

Newest drivers and bios that is officially available

Ram i put in is DDR3L 1600 SO-DIMM 4GB 204P KINGSTON/ASU16D3LS1KFG(Asus themself said it works)

Pretty sure i put it in correctly,at a angle and it doesnt go further anymore.

My laptop can take up to 12gb so it should be fine and it shouldnt be limited by software(Checked in msconfig)

So what i can do at this point?

Check to see if it is detected in bios. Sounds like it might be bad RAM, or a bad RAM slot.

The whole description of the insertion of the ram makes me wonder if it’s not put in correctly.  Maybe check the inside of the slot for cruft or bent pins if there are any pins to bend.  DDR3 means older so there could also be corrosion issues preventing good contact.  Any discoloration anywhere?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Drat.  Those Easy fixes down.  Any missing pins?  That’s not really fixable though.  Not sure it matters.  Just goes to “bad slot”.  Might be a convenient confirmation.  Is there anything you can test the ram in?

Sadly i dont have any other laptops to test the ram
