So I just ran Passmark because working from home is boring, and noticed something quite inexplicable. My memory kit scored amazingly well, better than all of the comparison systems. The reason this is surprising is because this is literally the cheapest, crappest Chinese RAM kit I've ever seen, made by ChunWell Technology(?) and its only rated at 2666. I have it running at 3700, but the timings are atrocious. I think its CL 25 or something stupid. So my question is, how is it possible that my memory score (especially latency) is better than all of the comparisons? This cheap ass RAM being compared against G.Skill, Corsair, etc and coming out on top? Makes no sense to me. Did I just get lucky with a decent kit? Is Passmark flawed.. Am I just a moron? Idk. Maybe someone who's better with memory timings can provide some input.

Here's a Newegg link for a similar RAM kit by the same brand for reference: https://www.newegg.com/oloy-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820821248

Might need to purchase a small nuclear reactor if I wanted to push the CPU any further

Oh?

What cpu? Core i7 40th Anniversary? That's an 8086K right?

The score is ok at it's best if you're really overclocked on the Cpu hard 5ghz +

I did a run just from pure curiosity (had to dl and everything) just to kinda see what the deal is with this benchmark.

Your's gonna be a good comparison. I did not watch the values of turbo and temps, this benchmark seems Super Weak to me.

Stock Cpu 8700K, Mixed matched G.skill trident z at CL16-16-16 4000mhz 32GB. 2 sticks are 3600 and 2 are 4266. One set OCed, the other underclocked. Again as a reminder, cpu is bone stock.

Memory scores 99% 4256pts. (not sure what this number means in correlation to yours....)

I found nothing stressful about this benchmark though.

Edit: Latency is 22. Which compared to AIDA64 Cache and memory benchmark, this number is way off.

Nice, so that means my score with crap RAM is within 300 pts of a decent kit running at a faster speed. For $50, I'm pretty happy with that. And yeah CPU is an 86k. I only have it at 5.1 all core because my poor little ITX board can't handle over 170 watts going to the CPU

You are comparing it to DDR3 and 2133 DDR4...

There are also some decent DDR4-25600 kits there

Try that with the cpu stock and memory overclocked. Im curious the score if the memory is THAT good, at cl25.... I highly doubt it.

But again the benchmark is shit for comparisn
