Updated on my Ram issue

So a while ago I posted about a ram issue I was having, linux was only seeing 3.8GBs of ram out of my 6GBs i have in my system.

I honestly have no clue of whats causing the issue, but some ideas.

1. it could be I have a some bent pins in my CPU socket preventing my bios from enabling the extra DIM slots. (yes my bios DOES detect the other ram sticks, just doesn't want to enable them)

2. I could have flexed my Mobo and that could be a contender for the issue.

3. I somehow scratched my Mobo's PCB

are any of these likely reasons for why my bios doesn't want to enable the dim slots?

and I did spend hours figuring out the ram layout, I went though my manual and when i did the 3 channel ram mode

it just wouldn't post.

i tried alternate lay outs.

the only layout i could get to work in the single channel mode witch with 2 sticks is very disappointing

my cpu is the i7 920

Are you by any chance using a 32bit OS?  That RAM amount is suspiciously close to the 32bit addressable memory limit and would be an easy explanation as to why you're not seeing all 6GB.

The 3 options you listed would likely result in the board/memory not working at all, and I'm 99% sure would not be the cause of the issue you're experiencing.
