Recently I attempted to upgrade my CPU to a newer model. I currently have

asus tuf x470 plus gaming motherboard
ryzen 7 170 cpu
nividia 2080 GPU
24 Gb ram

with my current processor in I have 0 issues with my computer. however when I try and use my ryzen 7 2700 I will randomly have my audio and monitors completely cut out without warning or an error code, with only way of taking my pc put of this state is to manually restarting it. My Bios has been updated to the newest firmware for my mobo and all my drivers are up to date. if anyone has an idea why this keeps happening I would greatly appreciate it

Ew.  Tier E.  I repetively forget about the motherboard tierlist.  I need to stop doing that

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I'm telling you, which you already know, the 2700X is a power hog beast.

It can pull pretty decently on my 6 IR3553's watch that current draw get up there. 95 amp is no problem.

Today running that B450-I did some memory tweaking. 3000mhz running 2933. CL 15-17-17, changed that right up to 16-16-16. So far doing well. Gained an average of 4 FPS with CODBO4 gaming 4K Max settings. Getting lows about 36 fps, now staying above 40 fps. Will increase this to 3000 and up after some more testing. Still need to run OCCT.

The rumored “xt”s are supposed to pull 125.  It will be even worse for them.
