So i built a pc around 3 months ago and due to faulty ram i haven’t been able to use it. Recently lockdown was lightened where i live and i was able to replace my Ram and had my Pc working again. When i built the pc i got myself a 1 tb hdd aside from the nvme 256gb wd blue i had, that was used from my uncle. With the first initial couple boots the hdd worked fine until it stopped showing up and then at the end i had to remove it due to the beeping sounds and slow boot up times. I thought it was a dead drive so i left it at that and with the issues with Ram i didnt pursue it. I than salvaged a 500gb hdd i had in an older system i had 2 nights back and i connected it with another sata cable. It showed up just fine and i was even able to access the files in it. But a couple of hours after i was using it, my pc blacked out even though it had power and everything was running. I tried a bunch of things and had to reset the bios. I found out by this morning that this was caused by the hdd or atleast related to it. Unlike the other 1tb hdd this smaller one had a lot of important files and i just removed it from the pc for now as the motherboard doesnt seem to recognise it anymore. Honestly 256 gb is not quite enough for me since i’m a gamer/artist and i work with a lot of data. It would be nice to identify what went wrong atleast.
