screen flickered while playing

So since im INSANELY and i mean INSANELY paranoic.I was playing gta 5 and my screen went black for 1 second and came back on.Now can anyone explain why this COULD happen and just calm my ass down?

 

I have a RTX 2080S as a GPU

Lots of things can cause this, bad display cable/bad monitor, software/texture glitch with the game, a power issue. If it only happened once and isn't consistently happening then it isn't something to worry about. If it happens again or often, then maybe check into it. But it was likely just a bug or glitch with the game. And if it doesn't happen again then forget about it.

it happend once like  2 months ago when i was on desktop but that's kinda of it

So it's happened twice? 2 months ago on desktop and then once today in GTA V?

Are you using the display cable that came with your monitor?

Depending on the monitor you bought that cable is probably super cheap, in both cost and quality. I would replace it. It's likely a cable issue that is causing the occasional black flicker.

Yeah it probably came with just a basic cheap cable. Replace it with something better. Do you use DP or HDMI?

Get a display port, especially with a 144hz monitor. Does the HDMI you use even allow it to go to 144hz?

i have a custom refresh rate set to 144 hz

Ok so it does allow it in display settings. I'd still ditch the cheap HDMI cable the monitor came with for a quality DP cable. HDMI is still limited. I had a similar issue with flickering(mine was once or twice every ten minutes though) and replacing the stock cable fixed it.

alright well if it happens again ill consider changing it
