Thinkpad keycap issue

Hi All,

 

I bought a ThinkPad x1 Carbon 6^th Gen late last year, was second-hand and very close to new condition, but I think this means I’m SOL with warranty on repairs.

 

Anyway, my issue is with my ‘E’ key. Basically if I apply moderate typing force to the key, the keycap raises from the bottom and unclips, making typing at speed a nightmare.

 

Inspecting the keycap it appears the bottom clips have worn away.

 

Does anyone have any experience with replacement keycaps for this model of thinkpads?

Buy a new key switch. They cost like 5$ on laptopkeys or replacementlaptopkeys

Thanks.  I was able to register the Laptop with Lenovo support so hopefully they can resolve the issue directly.

 

Will take a shot with one of your suggestions if not.

I've used such sites - it's easier than going through official channels even though mine had warranty. It's a very painless procedure and you get it shipped quickly.
