Unless you want to go for a 2080 Super which will add another 100-150$ to the budget or get something cheaper than the 2070 and wait for the 3xxx series release this year (probably a better bet)

Case is fine.  Better than mine which is also fine. It can be worked with.  Civ5 and COD basically have opposite needs game wise so going for a

general system.  $1300 is sort of right on the edge between a belled and whistled high refresh 1080p and a lean 1440p. Do you have a preference?

UPDATE above list would be lean 1440p

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

If you’re willing to go higher price look to the 1440p stuff then.  1440p needs more monitor and video card to drive it.  1080p is often thought of as 1k while 1440p is thought of as 2k so driving 1080p@60hz takes 1/4th the gpu power of 1440p@120hz.  Monitors capable of the latter cost about 3 times what monitors capable of the former do.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
