I don't really know if anyone can give you a specific number, but I would say it would be a solid jump. You get 2 more cores, and a faster CPU.

Please don't waate money on the 9400F. Get a Ryzen 5 3600. It's a MUCH better processor which also runs cooler and uses less power

The 9400F was never good. Currently the 3600 and 10600K are both vastly superior alternatives. The 9400F is equal to a Ryzen 3 3300X

The 9400F will not work in your current board. It's not supported

If you talking about upgrading the MSI Nightblade pre-built you should have a look for a secondhand i7 7700 (not the 7700k) as that was the other cpu option for that system.

Assuming the BIOS supports it, the i7 7700 but the used prices are absurd. You're better off getting a brand new 3300X (same performance as a 7700K) and a B450 Pro4 from ASRock.

If you change the motherboard make sure you get the right size for the case. I'm not sure what size boards fit in that case.

It's got SO-DIMMs for the ram so it may be a laptop hybrid or something from MSI.

The i7-7700 or i7-6700 is the highest you should go (can't overclock so there's no reason for 7700K or anything.)

One major problem, good luck getting a good price on any of those. The 6700 goes for $180 and up on eBay and the 7700 is always above $200. When the Ryzen 3 3100 is a mere $100, it's best to just get a new motherboard and a Ryzen CPU.

What PC does this motherboard come from? Is it proprietary?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
