Alright. I've got an nvme m.2 drive laying around. My mobo has no m.2 slot so I'll be picking up a pci-e card to place it in.

I currently have two drives. 512gb 2.5in SSD for my OS and a 2TB HDD for my games library. Obviously I'd want to switch to the nvme for my boot drive. Once I clone the 2.5in to the new nvme. Will the games installed on my HDD still work? Or am I going to have to reinstall everything?

Some are steam games, some battle.net, some are just stand alone.

Yes they'll work, no change as far as the system's concerned.

If your board doesn't have an m.2 slot check that it's actually capable of booting off NVMe, many that don't have one can't.

Interesting. Looks like my board cant boot from the nvme. Still could be used for storage apparently.

I'll have to look for a low profile card then. My sff media pc has the same issue but could use the extra storage.

Saved me from a pointless purchase. Thanks!
