Hi everyone, would anyone be able to make a pc pcartpicker list (on the UK site pls) for a build I want to do for my dad? Could it include a 21 or 24 inch monitor too.

Budget: £600-750

Use: Web browsing, emails, watching youtube, word processing, storing photos etc.

Preferences: Micro ATX. doesnt matter whether the platform is intel or amd. I know b550 is coming soon so if it is AMD i will wait until then..

It needs to be upgradable/futureproof.

thanks, feel free to ask any questions

upgradable/futureproof for the purposes of this use case is pretty subjective.

imo, for this use case buying an on-sale small form factor OEM PC with an SSD makes the most sense.

Definitely agree, something like a used/refurb Intel NUC would be perfect. Small, quiet, looks good and sips power.

I wouldn't go for Ryzen in that case because you would have to find a GPU in order for it to even POST. And considering your dad isn't a gamer or doing anything graphically intensive, there just isn't a need for one. In fact, you'll just be throwing money away because the cheapest GPUs on the market are terrible value. Their performance are not nearly worth their relatively high cost. Integrated graphics would be the way to go in this case.

He'll be just fine using a basic Core i3/i5 system paired with a SSD.
