Hi. So I'm building my first pc and I think I messed up. So my computer is not put together so thats good. But when I was looking at mother boards on best buy I ended up getting the Asus ROG STIX B-450 F GAMING motherboard and it was a bundle with a 3rd generation Ryzen 3 3200G. And I just noticed the motherboard is a 2nd generation. Is there a way I will be able to use that cpu or will I have to buy a whole new one or motherboard?

You can update the bios if you can get your hands on a earlier chip. AMD will send you a boot kit if you request it

The folks that build the bundles usually know what they're doing. As it happens, that motherboard (and honestly, most B450 motherboards these days) has full support for Ryzen 3000-series chips.

Additionally, despite the 3, the 3200G is actually a 2nd generation APU. Yeah, it's weird, but that's the way it goes.

And when in doubt, check the manufacturer's CPU support list: 3200G is there.
