PC Bootup Problem Help

Go to solution Solved by bhle2k,

After a few weeks of troubleshooting, I had the idea that this might be a drivers issue instead of a hardware issue. I finally fixed the issue and the past couple of days, the PC has finally been booting up normally. I concluded that this might be related to a driver problem since I started getting weird crashes during normal use in addition to bootup issue.

The way I solved this issue was to go online and download DDU, which is the display drivers uninstaller to ensure that I remove all instances of drivers, so old drivers can't interfere with newly installed ones (I read it could cause problems similar to mine). Here are the steps I took afterward:

  1. Turn off WIFI
  2. Launch DDU in Safe Mode (following instructions on their website)
  3. Reinstall Chipset drivers
  4. Reinstall graphics drivers (w/ factory reset option)
  5. Turn WIFI back on

Note: All these steps were for my AMD system and I am unsure if it will work for intel systems

These are the steps that allowed me to fix this issue. Steps 3 and 4 were done in that order because, I initially only reinstalled graphics drivers but my issue was still present. I don't know why it works in that order, but I'm happy that my issue is finally fixed. Hope this helps anyone else that might experience this issue.

Hello!

I initially posted this under graphics cards, but I think the troubleshooting thread seems more appropriate. I built my first PC a couple weeks ago and I am running into some issues. When I turn it on, sometimes it will load all the way to the windows login screen and then it will go black. The VGA led on the motherboard will be red at this point. When I shut off the computer, turn off the power supply, and restart the whole system afterwards, everything runs like normal. I noticed that this only happens if I leave the computer off for an extended period of time, like overnight, and try to turn it on the next morning. If I shut off the computer and turn it back on within a couple of minutes, there would be no issues at all.

I have tried moving the gpu to the second PCIe slot, but the same problem occurs, except when I shut it off and restart the system, the same issue keeps happening. So I moved the gpu back to the first slot. I know that there are no issues with the monitor or with the HDMI cable, because I have been able to use both of them with my laptop with no issues at all. I checked all the cables multiple times and nothing seems to be out of place. I double checked my BIOS version, just in case, and I am running the latest BIOS compatible with 3rd Gen Ryzen. I don't have another system to test if the graphics card would continue making that problem.

I know this is not normal, but is it something to be worried about? If not, how do I go about fixing it? How do I tell if any of my components are defective and causing this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Configuration:

GIGABYTE Aorus B450 Pro WIFI

AMD Ryzen 5 3600

GIGABYTE Radeon RX 5600 XT

G.skill Ripjaws (ddr4-3200 2x8gb)

EVGA 600BQ (600W Semi-modular)
