I'm thinking of getting a PC with a amd quad core processor and a nvidia geforce 660 graphics card and I only seem to play minecraft so I was wondering if it was good for minecraft and how much fps I would get when playing.

Thanks

Cameron

Can you give us a link?

the amd processor will bottleneck the 660. Also, you don't need a 660 for minecraft at all. Even if you run at high settings you won't need it, even a regular laptop with intel hd graphics will run minecraft just fine.

I think I got it wrong it was a nvidia geforce 620 would that still be bottlenecked

don't buy a 620, it's a terrible POS GPU. There is a certain balance with pc components just like anything else. If you spend too low, you are going to get low price to performance/features if you spend too much, you are going to start getting diminishing returns for the money. As far as GPUs go, the minimum you should spend is 100$ on something such as an AMD 7770 or 7790 (low end NVIDIA GPUs are not very competitive) The real sweet spot as far as pure performance/$ is in the 200$ range, but 100$ GPUs aren't too bad as far as that goes. GT620 type gpus though are to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. you might as well use the integrated intel graphics at that point.

And no, it wouldn't be bottlenecked because like I said the GT 620 is extremely subpar.
